Bio

My love of sports photography began in the mid 80's when I started covering high school sports for a local paper in Cleveland TN while attending college. By the 90's, I was also shooting Volunteer football, Lady Vols basketball and Vols basketball as well as UT Chattanooga basketball with Coach Mac McCarthy. These days were spent shooting on black and white film, developing our own photos and doing paste-up for publication.

Stepping away for few years while getting established in my accounting career, I returned to my love of photography with my new digital when my oldest began playing high school soccer. This led to 17 years of photographing high school sports in and around Shelby County AL for the Shelby County papers and AL.com. During this time I also made contacts with Missy Betres and Mark Meadows with ESPN-Birmingham and began providing photography for the local college bowl game in Birmingham. I have photographed all but one game in their 16 year history. I have covered team events, local parades, street festivals, fan zones, in game promotions as well as game action photos.

During this time, I also provided free-lance photography for Birmingham Southern, Samford University, UAB Athletics, Southern Conference events and ASUN golf tournaments. During the Birmingham Steeldogs time in the AFL, I worked with Dave Coffey and provided photography and articles for the Arena Football webpage.

For the past two seasons, I have worked free-lance at Auburn University, starting with providing game day souvenir photos for all visitors in the Auburn football suites during the 2021-2022 season. During the 2022-2023 season, I signed on with AuburnDaily.com to provide photography services for their website powered by Sports Illustrated. This has included, football, basketball, baseball, equestrian and gymnastics. I am still currently contracted with them for the 2023-2024 season.
